Scholarships
Swedish Institute offers scholarships established to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the school and to education. Students are eligible to apply after completing 15.5 credits and must have a grade point average of at least 3.0. Scholarships are offered as a tuition credit. See the Student Handbook for details.
The Patricia J. Eckardt Scholarship Fund
This scholarship for massage therapy students honors Mrs. Eckardt, former President and Director of the Institute. A remarkable woman and great humanitarian, she dedicated more than thirty years of her life to Swedish Institute.
The Richard G. Gilbert Scholarship Fund
This scholarship for Medical Assistant and Surgical Techlogist students honors a man who devoted more than forty years of his life to the field of education and during his lifetime was a friend and benefactor of Swedish Institute.
Theodore A. Melander Fund
This scholarship for Advanced Personal Training students honors the memory of the founder, who taught a system of massage and exercise physiology, a forerunner of today’s program.
The Jennifer A. Plumhoff Scholarship Fund
This scholarship for Massage Therapy students honors Jennifer Plumhoff, a long-time faculty member who developed the Off-Site Internships for the Massage Therapy Program.
