Check out some of the success stories from our graduates! Read firsthand how pursuing their education at Swedish Institute made a difference in their lives and impacted their communities.
"My experience at Swedish Institute nursing program was very wholesome and fulfilling," says Dwayne. "With a manageable work schedule, curriculum, and excellent professors I was able to successfully complete the program without any setbacks. The nurse educators and entire school faculty gave me the opportunity to fulfill my dream in becoming a Registered Nurse. I am currently working in the Intensive Care Unit at Brookdale and am an aspiring nurse anesthesia student applicant."

Class of 2018"The hands-on experience is something I'm not sure I would have gotten anywhere else but Swedish. Even from the beginning with lecture classes such as microbiology, to lab classes such as maternity -- Swedish has an amazing facility. We had some of the most top notch equipment that we could use, and we had some of the best professors that I've ever worked with before. [But the key was] clinicals -- going into the hospitals, being on the med surge floors, being in the ORs. You can get all the education you need, but unless you're on the floor, in the field, that's where you start learning. And I think that's where Swedish really excels."
Justin Shaw
Class of 2015"I initially choose to be in this profession because almost everyone in my family is in healthcare, so naturally I gravitated towards the field. However as I began my nursing career I learned the value of what I actually do. When I see my patients, I see all the elderly members of my family in their faces and I take pride in being able to be a source of comfort to them in any way possible."
Weadly Jean
Class of 2018"This degree choice for me was well worth the hard work. I love what I do. I’m grateful and humble to now not only have my degree, but to also have had the experience of working in Pediatrics. I got what I needed in that moment of experience. From there, I did my internship at Bethany Medical Clinic, and after that I was offered a job paying me well with full benefits. For this I'm happy and doing very well. Thank you so much Swedish Institute for giving me the education and the experience I need to be the best RMA."

Class of 2020"Classes were hands on and the professors wanted you to succeed, making the environment comfortable and safe. I wouldn't be able to show my gratitude and thank the staff at Swedish enough for everything they've done for me. Look at me now, two years later a Registered Medical Assistant working at Metropolitan Pediatrics. There is nothing more that I could ask for."
Y. Paulino
Class of 2019"Becoming a Swedish Institute student has truly changed my life. It has given me the ability to believe in myself and discover the things I’m capable of. The help I received from my instructors shaped and guided me to where I am now as a Registered Medical Assistant. "
Kelly Cruz
Class of 2019"Swedish Institute was a program that I didn’t know much about when I first moved to New York, but after taking some time and doing research, and coming in to meet with some of the professors, I came to learn that this is a really good school that offers a lot of flexibility, and a school that has administrators and teachers that really care about their students. "

Class of 2019"When I was thinking of changing my career, Medical Billing and Coding sounded best to me as it gives me an option to work from home in the future. I found out about Swedish Institute, and I’m so glad I did because they gave me an opportunity to learn something brand new in a short time. I’m excited for a new chapter in my life. Thank you to all my instructors at Swedish Institute "
Janette Derzsiova
Class of 2018"Having been to other colleges and trying to pick classes that wouldn't conflict with my work schedule was always frustrating. At Swedish, I didn’t have to worry about picking the right classes or changing my schedule every quarter. "
Latoya Murray
Class of 2019"I currently work at a surgical office on Long Island. What I liked about my experience as a student was the flexibility, as I did my degree at night. Patient care is my core and passion. Thank you Swedish!"
Gavin Greenidge
Class of 2015"Swedish Institute provided a very extensive education in the Surgical Technologist field. My experience in the clinical setting gave me a step forward towards being a certified Surgical Tech. I loved the hands-on training in the clinic, as well as the didactic learning environment that the instructors gave us. "

Class of 2016"If you’re looking for a great school, look no further. Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences should be your number 1 choice. The admissions team, administrators, program director and professors will help guide you every step of the way. "
Thomas Silvera
Class of 2017"Swedish Institute has a 103-year history teaching massage. It was also the first school that popped up during my search. There are many other massage schools in New York, but Swedish Institute kept coming up in random conversations. I enrolled at Swedish Institute post-knee replacement and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made."
Alexes Hargrove
Class of 2019"The most powerful thing about my time at Swedish were the teachers. I can truly say that I have fallen in love with every single one of them. Their love for the field, deep knowledge of the material they teach, and desire to see every student succeed shines through each of them. I always said I couldn't wait to graduate and begin working in the field, but knew one of the most difficult things for me would be not seeing the faculty around all the time. "
Giselle Guadalupe
Class of 2018"My time at Swedish was truly transformative -- the best way to describe it was a 2-year intensive personal development course. I learned that I was capable of much more than I allowed myself to believe. Fast forward to today as a Licensed Massage Therapist. I am currently building my own brand as Karuna Bodywork, where I integrate both western and eastern styles of massage along with energy work"
Nick Rivera
Class of 2018"I graduated Swedish in 2012 and since then I've worked everywhere from spas to chiropractic offices with doctors. Currently I'm working with the Brooklyn Nets as one of their massage therapists. This has also opened doors for me to work with several college teams as well. It's been a ridiculously rewarding experience working with them. The Sports Massage course with Vincent Metzo [at Swedish Institute Continuing Education] has elevated my practice to a whole different level. It has helped me out not only with the professional athletes that I work with, but also the weekend warriors and the regular [everyday person]. I can't say enough about what a rewarding experience it's been for me graduating from Swedish. "
