Why Choose Swedish Institute’s Personal Training Program?

Personal training is in a league of its own. With health on the minds of most people these days, personal training jobs are high in demand and trainers must stay ahead of the curve when it comes to building their clientele.

In this blog, we will discuss the benefits of both personal training programs here at Swedish Institute, as well as where the personal training jobs are and what kind of jobs to expect.

Our Personal Training Programs

Whether you’re looking to expand your career with our Personal Training Certification or start from the ground up with our Advanced Personal Training Degree, Swedish Institute offers two great options to launch your career and give you the well-rounded education you need to set you apart in the industry.

Personal Training Certification

  • Prepares candidates for securing jobs in gyms and other health-related facilities.
  • Designed for those who are looking to expand their skills in an existing field or explore a different career path.
  • Most will be currently established in the workforce with credentials including business experience and possibly a bachelor’s degree.
  • Graduates are awarded a certificate authorized by the New York State Board of Regents and are eligible to enroll in the Swedish Institute Advanced Personal Training degree program.

Advanced Personal Training Degree

While we have a high placement rate for securing our graduates with positions in the field, some of our graduates go on to earn four-year degrees.

“Our programs have raised the bar on curriculum standards to ensure our students are prepared for success at every level,” said Vincent Metzo, Dean of the Personal Training Program at Swedish Institute.

Metzo explains how mastering the three components of evidence-based practice including research evidence, clinical expertise and client values is critical to achieving all the skills one needs to excel in the field.

“Interpersonal skills, business skills and technical skills are key components for success,” Metzo said. “Having a full 360- degree perspective is what sets our graduates apart from the rest. Personal training jobs are not just the training of the physical, it’s the relation of physical training to the whole individual.”
