Transfer Credits
An applicant accepted into a Swedish Institute program may be eligible to transfer credits from an accredited post-secondary institution. Requests for transfer credit must be submitted four weeks in advance of the start of class. If an applicant misses this deadline, she/he may request an extension. If the request is granted, there will be a $100 late fee for the evaluation of the transcript.
No transfer credit will be granted for classes taken after enrollment in the program.
Transfer credit may be granted if all of the following criteria have been met:
- The course is comparable in length and content to a course offered at Swedish Institute.
- Coursework was taken, and passed with a minimum grade of C, at a post-secondary institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U. S. Department of Education and the applicant can pass a Swedish Institute challenge examination for that course.
- An official school transcript documenting successful completion of the course and detailed course descriptions have been submitted to Swedish Institute.
For all transfer credit requests there is a $50 per course transcript evaluation fee to a maximum of $150 for all transcripts. There is a $25 fee for written challenge exams and a $75 fee for practical challenge exams. All fees are non-refundable.
