Students, Faculty and Staff
On days when weather is questionable, students are advised do the following to determine if the school will be open or if classes are canceled:
- Call the Swedish Institute's main number (212) 924-5900 to listen to an announcement update.
- Check the student portal, The Swede for updates. Be sure to refresh your browser if you use this option.
- Check our website for announcements.
- Check your school email for a notice.
- Check your cell phone for a text alert.
Be sure you are on our school e-services system so you can receive a text message alert about class status on questionable days.
Sign-up for SMS Alerts
- Students: Login to eServices and go to Account→Update SMS. Enter your cell phone number and select your provider and then click Update SMS.
- Faculty and Staff: Email the IT Department with your cell phone number and provider.
