How to Apply

Swedish Institute participates in a number of tuition assistance programs. For all financial aid consideration, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) available online.

Additionally, students must acquire a pin number from the Department of Education to sign the FAFSA electronically. Swedish Institute’s Federal School Code needed to complete the FAFSA is 016904.

Federal and State Student Aid Programs

Federal and State Financial Aid are available to those who qualify. Below are some of the eligibility requirements that students must meet:

  • Demonstrate financial need (except in the case of certain loan programs).
  • Have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress.
  • Be a matriculated student.
  • Be a citizen of the United States or an eligible non-citizen. International students are not eligible for federal and state assistance. However, they may apply for an alternative student loan.
  • Hold a valid Social Security number.
  • Register, if required, with Selective Service.

Academic Progress

Students who receive Federal Financial Aid must meet satisfactory academic progress standards as outlined in the Student Handbook, given to students at the time of registration.
