Criminal Background Check

The Nursing and Surgical Technologist programs require applicants to undergo a criminal background check prior to enrollment. The background check must be completed by the end of the Drop/Add period. Applicants whose background involves crimes that will make a student ineligible for state licensure will not be admitted to the program. For other programs, students must acknowledge in writing that they are aware that employers may conduct background checks and may refuse employment or externship/clinical placement based upon an applicant’s criminal history. Applicants are urged to discuss any prior convictions with the Director of Admissions.
