Open House, February 22nd, from 10am to 7pm
Swedish Institute does not offer on-campus housing for our students, but we are able to recommend various resources to assist with securing housing accommodations.
Educational Housing Services (EHS) is a nonprofit company that provides student housing throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn. EHS offers accommodations in a dormitory-style setting with single, double, and triple rooms available. All EHS residences offer full-time security, laundry facilities, a fitness center, lounges and elevators. These residences are either within walking distance of Swedish Institute or close to mass transit.
Midtown Manhattan – New Yorker Residence (34th Street and Eighth Avenue) is located just five (walking) minutes away from Swedish Institute’s campus, and is also close to Times Square, Broadway, Madison Square Garden, Macy’s, and the Empire State Building. Each room has a private bathroom and a refrigerator. The building offers full-time security, a large kitchen, laundry facilities, a fitness center, lounges, a game room and elevators. Amenities, such as Internet, premium cable, and utilities, are also included.
Upper East Side – 1760 Third Avenue is located in a quiet neighborhood with shops and restaurants. It’s also close to mass transit (Lexington subway lines 4, 5, and 6). The residence features fully furnished double and triple rooms and each comes with its own bathroom, refrigerator, microwave oven, and 26-inch DVD-equipped flat-screen TV. There is FREE cable, local and national phone service, and high-speed Internet. The building also offers 24-hour security, concierge service, common rooms and study rooms, a fully-equipped gym, a game room, a laundry room, and computer kiosks.
Brooklyn Heights is home to St. George Studio, St. George Weller, and St. George Clark. All three towers offer student housing and are connected via a lobby and student community center. This historic community puts you close to the Brooklyn Promenade, Brooklyn Bridge Park, and a host of restaurants, cafés, pharmacies, grocery stores, and banks. Multiple subway lines (2, 3, 4, 5, N, R, A, C, E) are also within walking distance.
For more information on student housing, please go to the EHS website for a complete description of all housing features and amenities and photos of each location.
