MBC tapes acupuncture documentary
On January 12, 2007, producers from Korea's Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC)
visited the school to tape faculty and students from the Acupuncture Program for an
upcoming documentary on the growth of acupuncture in the U.S.
Former Dean of the Acupuncture Program Megan Haungs, M.S., L.Ac., pictured above, spoke
about the different kinds of acupuncture taught in America, including the classical
approach taken here. Producers then spoke with faculty members John Barber and Enrico
Viselli, as well as with students. They finished their taping day with some time in
Mr. Viselli's class on needling Luo points.
Prior to coming to the Swedish Institute in New York City, the team from Korea had
been in the D.C. and Maryland area and had visited the National Center for Complementary
and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM), John Hopkins Medical Center and researchers at the
University of Maryland.
The documentary is scheduled to air in early March 2007.
