Our CampusThe Swedish Institute is located on the West Side of Manhattan at 226 West 26th Street, between Seventh and Eighth Avenues. We are surrounded by the energetic confluence of millions of individuals with unique ideas, languages and dreams. These stimulating forces make New York City a wonderful environment for learning. The school occupies three floors of a ten-story building in Chelsea, a neighborhood of mostly low-rise buildings, brownstones, art galleries, restaurants, health food stores and a television studio. Visitors are welcome to tour the school, observe a class, or attend an Open House. Please call an Admissions Advisor at 212.924.5900 ext. 125 to make a reservation for any or all of these options. Our on-line photo tour will give you a glimpse of the following: Reception and Administration
Campus Safety The safety and well being of our students, staff, faculty, clinic clients and other guests is very important at the Swedish Institute. Though ours is not a typical “campus,” our concern for security and crime prevention matches that of any other college in New York City. Our safety measures include video surveillance of unsupervised areas during hours of operation, emergency phones on all floors, institutional procedures for emergencies and mandatory display of photo ID cards. The Swedish Institute annually publishes a Campus Security Report that contains detailed information on policies and procedures, as well as campus crime statistics. A copy of the report, as well as campus crime statistics, is available on request from the Administrative Office. Incoming students receive detailed information about safety and crime prevention during a special orientation before classes begin, as well as in the Student Handbook they receive. |
