Admissions Requirements
The Acupuncture Program welcomes a diverse population of
students from all economic, cultural and geographical
backgrounds. We seek students who have the potential for
working in a compassionate manner, who share a desire to use
all facets of themselves in their study and practice of
Chinese medicine, and who have a commitment to use their
knowledge to promote health and healing and to contribute to
the profession of acupuncture.
All applicants must meet the following requirements:
-
Be at least 18 years of age.
-
Have completed a minimum of 60 semester
credit hours from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S.
Department of Education. At least 15 of these credit hours must be in general
education. See page 12 of the catalog for a detailed description of the
distribution of those credit hours.
If the applicant has a minimum of 60 credits, but does not have 15 credits in the
area of general education, these general education credits may be completed
concurrently with the baccalaureate portion of the program, at an institution
recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Special exceptions are possible for individuals who do not have the required
general education courses, but whose life experiences have contributed to a
better than average facility in written and oral communication and critical
thinking.
-
Be a U.S. citizen or alien lawfully admitted for permanent
residence in the U.S., or eligible for a student visa.
-
Provide evidence of English proficiency if English is not
their first language. (See “Internationally Educated
Applicants” on page 14 of the Acupuncture Program catalog for details.)
